Think Casual...

Don't you just love those days when you walk into your closet and you just spot a blouse, or pants or skirt or dress or whatever that you decide that's it. That's what I'm going to wear? Well that's what happened when I found this silk blouse hiding in the back of my closet. I was thrilled because this week has been one of those weeks where I can't seem to find the time to even wash my hair! (don't worry I did manage to get that done today!) Between it being market week at work, and having to fill an order by today for my new holiday collection, I've been non stop from 7am till 1am. I cannot wait till this weekend when I can just relax! And of course dinner at Lokal tomorrow! YAY! SO Sorry I've been out of the blog loop, miss you guys!!!

Rockabilly love....

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend!!! John and I had a few Halloween parties to attend and a few days before Friday we FINALLY decided to be Rockabillys. Now, I had no idea no one would really know what that was. I guess I just sorta thought people knew that the term Rockabilly was a reference to a genre of music from the mid 1950's. A mesh of rock-n-roll and country (hillbilly music as it was known then), with other influences as well such as western swing, boogie woogie, and rhythm and blues. Elvis and Priscilla Presley happened to be Rockabillys, so was Johnny Cash. But I got a lot of "are you Amy Winehouse" Kinda funny. Regardless John and I had a blast! Here are some shots of our weekend...

It's finally Friday! I had another post planned but this card came in the mail yesterday from one of my best friends and it totally made me smile, so I figured I just HAD to share it with you! Those two Little girls paying dress up on the front are just too cute!!! I hope you all have a great weekend. Have fun playing dress up for Halloween, and spending time with close friends!

I wanted to create a holiday inspired collection that was way more whimsical and more girlish than my other styles. I've used sequin appliques, beaded silk and gross grain bows this time. All appliques are backed with soft fuzzy felt so they feel nice on your skin.

This bracelet is my absolute favorite! I'll be wearing this in various colors, probably every day!

 

I've even dabbled in some headbands as you can see in the back of the photo there. I'll be giving those as gifts over the holidays. I'm quite obsessed with hair accessories!

I don't know about all of you, but I've become completely smitten with tulle skirts. Those of the tutu variety and even the long gothish variety. I found this one at Forever 21. I also fell in love with this little tank I found in the same shopping outing. The little saying was just too cute! I figured I just had to wear it to dinner ( a little subliminal message to John). We went to Son Cubano in the meatpacking district. I've been to this place a few times before and have never been disappointed till Thursday. We were most definitely rushed through our entire 3 course meal, and then we had to wait a good 25-30 min for our bill at the end. Wasn't the best dinner, but John and I tend to have fun no matter the situation :) Here's some shots of my ridiculously affordable outfit ...

I'm totally loving these little ladylike, glitzy, glamorous, evening clutches. I wish I could start a mini collection of them but, unfortunately they are just not cheap at all...

 

 

I even love these cute kitschy Judith Leiber ones...I mean how can you resist that adorable piglet!!

This is a version I was lucky enough to spot randomly at a little boutique called "KARA" in the Garden State mall while shopping for some work samples. I instantly fell in love and purchased it for a mere $40.00. The only thing I'm still trying to get used to is packing light! So far my poor boyfriends pockets have been bulging with my lip glosses, mascara, cellphone, and wallet, you name it I beg him to carry it! Which is why I don't carry it often. I would drive him bonkers!
