Dinner with Ninjas

So as you all know Friday night was my birthday, and I knew John and I were headed out to dinner but where exactly was the surprise. When the cab pulled up I was unbelievably excited because John and I had heard of this place called Ninja downtown where your served by real Ninjas, and they do all sorts of tricks, scare you and all sorts of fun stuff. I was even MORE surprised when we were brought to the table and sitting there was my Mom, Dad, Sister and one of my best friends to celebrate with me! I couldn't believe he arranged for everyone to come! John and I had never been to this place so it was going to be a first experience for all. And while the company, and conversation, and of course the fact that it was my Bday made it one of the most perfect evenings ever, John and I just would never recommend this place for dinner to others. I really really wish I could say it was worth the super high prices but it really wasn't. Our waiter was def NOT a ninja of any sort, and the sushi was terrible. Dishes came out in flames, or smoking, which was kinda fun...but all in all, this place should really lower their prices. When you pay $8.00 for one single piece of sashimi you expect it to be ridiculously fresh, and soft and mouth watering. I Can't say it was any of those things. It didn't matter much though because I wasn't paying too much attention to the actual cuisine, I was just way to excited to be celebrating my Birthday with the closest people in my life, and so happy that John took the time to arrange everything himself. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me! I was touched. This was the first Birthday John and have spent together, and he went just above and beyond. I spent the rest of the weekend feeling so loved! He also surprised me with some Birthday goodies. Unfortunately I sent my gifts home with my parents because we were headed out for some drinks afterwards so I have no pictures, but he gave me tickets to see "The Heights" on Broadway for Dec 11th! Very excited about that! Here are some shots of our evening....

After dinner we ventured to the Lower East side to a place called The Back room where they serve drinks in tea cups. Loved it!!

After such an eventful evening John and Q just wanted to lounge around all day on Saturday!

We had such a great time. And thank you again  for all my Bday love on Friday!!! It definitely added to my happiness!! Love you all!!

Think Casual...

Don't you just love those days when you walk into your closet and you just spot a blouse, or pants or skirt or dress or whatever that you decide that's it. That's what I'm going to wear? Well that's what happened when I found this silk blouse hiding in the back of my closet. I was thrilled because this week has been one of those weeks where I can't seem to find the time to even wash my hair! (don't worry I did manage to get that done today!) Between it being market week at work, and having to fill an order by today for my new holiday collection, I've been non stop from 7am till 1am. I cannot wait till this weekend when I can just relax! And of course dinner at Lokal tomorrow! YAY! SO Sorry I've been out of the blog loop, miss you guys!!!

"To love intensely, be crazy about, be smitten with. To truly respect and value
something or someone with the utmost esteem. Worship. Admire. I like you,
I love you, I adore you!"
I don't know about all of you, but I've become completely smitten with tulle skirts. Those of the tutu variety and even the long gothish variety. I found this one at Forever 21. I also fell in love with this little tank I found in the same shopping outing. The little saying was just too cute! I figured I just had to wear it to dinner ( a little subliminal message to John). We went to Son Cubano in the meatpacking district. I've been to this place a few times before and have never been disappointed till Thursday. We were most definitely rushed through our entire 3 course meal, and then we had to wait a good 25-30 min for our bill at the end. Wasn't the best dinner, but John and I tend to have fun no matter the situation :) Here's some shots of my ridiculously affordable outfit ...

Lingerie Lust...

I have an odd obsession with intimates As I'm sure most females do! My favorite kinds are the ones with a super femmenine feel. Ivory Lace, dots, light pinks with black details. I stumbled upon this etsy shop NAOMILINGERIE and I'm just lusting after all these girlie items! You can be sure i'll be adding some of these femminine intimates to my collection. The prices are spot on too!

Just how darn cute are all these peices?!?!?

Polka Dots and Burgers

Sunday was such a beautiful day! One of my girlfriends and I went to go see "The Social Network" Such a good movie! And afterwards we walked on over to Shake Shack where we endured the 30 min line, all for some delicious burgers, fries, and of course shakes! It was so worth it! I wore my over sized big polka dot sweater over a little black knit dress and my gray lace up booties. This isn't my favorite outfit, but I'm obsessed with my sweater. It's so big and cozy, I just want to wear it every day!

Sweater: H&M

Date Night!

Happy Thursday!! It's absolutely gorgeous here in NYC today! A perfect cool and sunny October day! Since its Date night and my boy surprised me with tickets to the Miike Snow concert for tonight, and since its almost our 6 month anniversary (he's so cute to spoil me every month!!) I was feeling a bit flirty so this is what I decided to wear:

Dress: F21 Dont remember the price, Chambray top: H&M $19 (about), Booties: F21($32.80), Bag: Mulberry (Ebay STEAL)

In this last Photo you'll notice some weird glare up top. It looks kinda cool in this one shot but that was really by chance! This was a super depressing revalation. Between having to go out and buy a new computer  because the old one broke, and now a 6 month old $300+ camera breaking, I was NOT happy! BUT oddly enough I had joined twitter a few days ago, this is what happened:

My Tweet: Just realized my camera lens is cracked....great!

My next tweet (After calling Sony): $210 to fix a camera that is 6 months old....I hate Sony!

In my e-mail inbox I have a new twitter follower "Sonylistens"

I'm baffled (I'm new to twitter so this is all a bit strange)

Sonylistens Tweets @me: Hi This is Sarah @ SonyListens, So sorry about your frustrations, please email me your problem so I can look into that for you!

My retweet @sonylistens: WOW thanks Sarah I had no idea Sony REALLY was listening, I will email you tonight.

I emailed........Sarah herself calls me today....they aren't going to repair my camera....instead.....they are sending me a brand new one, the same model for $90.00. This is a bargain since I even took the camera to a repair shop and they said the parts for that camera are not on the market yet because it is too new and its water proof so it would never work the same!! So I was eventually going to have to just chalk it up to a loss and get a new one! The moral is.......well I don't know what the moral is but, I really love social networking and seriously, Sony is AWESOME! And I can't wait to take some fun photos with my new Cybershot. I promise to be more careful with it......or just leave it at home when I go to the Brooklyn Brewery again....yea I didn't tell you all that story, but really you don't want to know :)

Have a happy day loves!

A few of my favorite things...

Due to a hectic week (3 day work week means too much to do in very little time) I'm feeling super uninspired to dress well or post about fun things SO this post will be a re-post I'm doing a bit of stealing if you will.

Last week one of my favorite bloggeristas A Brit Greek did a little questionnaire about me and my jewelry line and a few of her questions prompted me to snap some shots of my favorite things so I'll just give you a teeny little insight into me.

ABG- Other than shoes, what is your wardrobe chock full of? (Note, this gal loves shoes!)

ME: Well, yes shoes are def 75-80% of my closet! But I also have an abundance of handbags. I started collecting bags when I was in college I had hundreds! Sad story - my Father accidentally put the box of handbags I had stored in the basement outside for charity to pick up! I lost literally about 100 handbags!! The one I miss most is a vintage Moschino red one. I've never seen that style again! Definitely a sad day for me, but slowly my collection has grown and I do have quite a number of handbags.

ABG: Fave dress?

ME: My deep purple Diane Von Furstenburg chiffon wrap dress that I purchased at Neiman Marcus outlet for a pretty good price. It's simple and elegant and I toughen it up with chunky belt. I love that my BF is in the background of this pic too! Typical of what happens when I'm photographing and playing dress up! Haha!

ABG: Fave Bling?

ME: I love this ring I purchased as a gift to myself when I was single. It's a big smokey topaz with a halo of pave diamonds and pave diamonds on the band. I figured if you don't have a guy to buy you sparkles just buy it yourself! It makes me feel strong and independent. I think they call those power rings? Did I just make that up? I have no idea, but I love it and I love that It was a gift from me to me!

ABG: Fave Shoes?

ME: My Chloe Black Patent "Leonessa" T-strap Mary Janes that I purchased 3 years ago. They make me feel so girlie! I wear them with thick black tights and mini skirts around the holidays, they never go out of style.

One more pair of shoes I'm loving right now are my SUPER affordable H&M lace up booties seen HERE. I still cant believe what a great deal they were at $59!!

Thanks again A BRIT GREEK for interviewing me!!! Please go take a look at her blog, its a really fun place to be!!

xoxo M

OLIVE OIL...

This outfit I wore the other day remedied me of a story my mother told me of my childhood. I was in the 5th grade and coming off the school bus. I was wearing a long skirt and a tee shirt, and big black combat boots. I remember the combat boots because I HAD to have them at the time but the outfit combined with the fact that I was a bit tall for my age and I had the scrawniest legs ever and my boots were about a size and a half too big ( don't ask why I used to buy my shoes big), my Dad and my Mom watched me get off the school bus and walk across the street and my dad says to my mom " here comes olive oil". He really wasn't that far off!

T-Shirt - F21 $5.80

Skirt - F21 $17.80

Boots - H&M $49.00
